A St. Luke’s Expansion Update
.
This summer we had our FIRST ever Ultrasound at our St. Luke’s Center for Nutritional Recovery; helping us provide services to mother who otherwise would go without and Saving more Lives.
This is one small part of our St. Luke’s Expansion Campaign, taking St. Luke’s from CRN to “Hospital” status. We are expanding beyond emergency nutrition intervention and digging deeper into our mission by providing accessible healthcare to those who need it most.
Put simply, we will Save more Lives through providing TOTAL healthcare, vs emergency nutritional care.
Adding outpatient services like ultrasonography to our soon-to-be Hospital will not only expand our capacity to provide medical care to vulnerable families, but will also enable us to meet national Guatemalan facility requirements for an improved classification ranking as a health center.
In the NEW St. Luke’s we will be able to provide services such as: Neonatal Care, Gynecology, Optometry, Psychology, Dermatology, Dental Services, Diagnostic Imaging Center, Improved Laboratory Services.
We could not be more overjoyed by the support we’ve received to take a small step forward in this project. Our ability to provide these Ultrasound services is a game-changer for prenatal care and women’s health in the region – one small step toward the much bigger goal of the St. Luke’s expansion.
